Everybody warns you away from affordable bankruptcy lawyers. But that’s stupid. Suppose some “dream team” type of bankruptcy lawyer is willing to represent you for cheap? You would be awfully foolish to turn that down. The fact of the matter is there’s nothing wrong with affordable bankruptcy lawyers. The problem is finding both “cheap” and “good” in the same attorney.

Guess what? You really CAN get affordable bankruptcy lawyers who also happen to be very good. Not that the really good lawyers want to work for cheap. But often, they will agree to do it if you know how to ask them. I’m going to show you how to do it.

Find Affordable Bankruptcy Lawyers in Los Angeles, (and elsewhere) Who are Good.

Consult at least 3 different bankruptcy lawyers.

• Do not do this on the phone. To make this work to YOUR advantage, it needs to be done with office appointments. Most bankruptcy lawyers will give you a free consultation. Take them up on that offer. You won’t be wasting your time. Use your free consultations to learn what you need to know to get yourself through this.
  

  Find the best bankruptcy lawyers for your free consultations. 

• Do that by making a Google search. Use a search term like, “Los Angeles Bankruptcy Advice, ” (using the name of your city). Do not click on any paid advertisements. Those Google “pay per click” ads cost as much as $50 to $100 per click for top billing. The cost gets passed along to the clients. You’re not likely to find a cheap bankruptcy fee if you click on a lawyer that spends hundreds of dollars in ad costs for every client they represent. Click on the organic search listings that Google gives you. Google searches instantly through thousands of web sites to give the ones that that Google trusts and are the best result for the search term you have used.
• Web sites like AVVO are independent lawyer rating services. Avvo rates lawyers on a scale of 1 to 10. A “10” is the best. You can see it on the picture above. The arrows point to the name of the bankruptcy lawyer, (Jeffrey Wishman), and his perfect “10” score.
• After you have seen at least 3 different bankruptcy lawyers you will know the price range. Go back to the lawyer who is your favorite. Ask that lawyer to do your case for half price. As you are talking, explain that you have been shopping. Tell the lawyer that he or she is your favorite, but you can’t afford the fee. Tell the lawyer this is all you have, and put it on the table. (Keep a few bucks in your pocket so that you will be able to accept any reasonable counter offer). I predict you will go away with a really good lawyer retained for your case at a very low fee.
